I found this website while I was googling treasure stories in my general area. I had gotten a metal detector from my brother and it just got me interested in treasure hunting in general.

I found a thread here about "Buried Treasure in Southeastern Pennsylvania". It was incredibly long and quite bizarre. I read the entire thread, decided it was pure fantasy, and created my handle. I was a Doubter in Maryland.

I got so caught up in that train wreck that I earned myself a one month timeout.

It was one of the longest and most active threads on these boards. It was eventually deleted by the mods. The originator of the thread was banned.

That's my story. Who's next?

I once jokingly commented to my wife..."Do you realize I was born right after Albert Einstein died? I could be him reincarnated." So she started calling me Einstein, even bought me a coffee mug with his picture on it. So, for a Tnet name I came up with this hybrid nickname. Now you know.....Ken.

all the cool pirate and treasure names were already taken (for my limited imagination). I really consider myself to be the "pull tab extractor."

I was trying for things along the lines of 'swampwaterhag' and 'riverbratpftt' but it kept telling me those names were already taken. (I have yet to meet the owners of those names, but am looking forward to it.) I like meadows so I tried it plain and simple, and weirdly, it worked. :icon_scratch:

Mommy and Daddy gave it to me and also decided where I would be born.

And I'm stupid/stubborn enough to have stuck to the vicinity of where I was hatched.

All here on TNet purposely use a specific user name or "handle".
Some, use location for "handle". Others, albeit few, use personal name.
Please share the significance of your "handle".
Thanks
Peace
So are you the kid from Cincinnati? :laughing7:

Anyone care to guess about mine? 8-)

My old username (and still used other places) is because I'm also a pilot and own/drive a Ford Mustang Mach 1...

I can't afford the ten thousand dollars for a really good violin, so I play cheap fiddles I find in junk shops.
