Tnet unsecured website ? Pop ups

Anybody else get the pop up flags on Tnet being an unsecured website ?

It is an unsecured website (not encrypted) some browsers or security/antivirus suites have issues
might add an exception or set it as a trusted site.

You shouldn't trust any website. Security has to be on the users side.

A secure HTTPS connection doesn't make a website or your information safe. If your browser is giving warnings about Tnet you need to investigate why that is. More than likely either your browser or your "antivirus" is dumb as a post and sets off alarms whenever it's confused - which is often.

Tnet uses a lot of trackers. I'm counting 17 on this page load alone. Most websites track you. There are ways to stop that but you will lose some of the functionality of the website if you do that. Tracking in and of itself is not a security issue but what those companies tracking you are doing should be of concern. Once again security is your problem - trusting a website not to bite is putting your faith in the internet.

I've checked out Tnet web extensively and it's relatively safe and benign compared to Google, Amazon or Facebook. Some of their tracking partners not so much. If I were you I would really question the security of your browser or antivirus - not Tnet. Most of the "security" offered from browsers and antivirus is a joke at best.

Just go surf. If you don't click on anything "free" or too good to be believable you are probably going to be fine. Tnet is not a boogie man. If you like to surf free porn, social media or creative mayhem websites you are putting yourself in the danger zone.

Now hold up there Mr.Diggins , security on my end is fine thanks . I didn't ask for or need a tutorial on
basic internet security . I also didn't infer or imply that Tnet was a danger or a " Boogey Man " . I actually
ran it by a Mod in a passing PM quite awhile back just to see if they knew about it . They did but were not
sure what it was about . I didn't worry about it then and I'm not worried about it now . I just wondered if other
members get it too so I asked . That's all I asked .
The funny thing is , out of a few replies nobody bothered to answer the actual question .
Seemed pretty simple to me .

membership and I know it's PayPal only , which provides some extra security on finance info but
just in case some others might not know ..... after you use the Tnet site link to make a payment via
PayPal be sure to go to the PayPal site and check to be sure your logged out of there after making the
payment . Just to be sure it's logged out when your through .

I have zero trouble on TNet. I was building and selling PC's in the 80's and have always been very aware of internet security. At one point I collected viruses in case I wanted vengeance on someone who p'd me off. I run heavy anti-virus security and also pop up blockers.

So I have zero trouble on TNet. And I'm also a Charter Member so I don't see their pop-ups here. $20 a year and more than worth it = most of all, supporting TNet!

most are related to security settings But the root is poorly written programing and rushed updates.

That would help to see a screenshot to see whats happening. some people just live with issues that could have an easy fix.

Sorry if I over informed you Takoda.

To answer your question more directly - No I don't get a popup of any kind on Tnet or any other website on any of my browsers or operating systems. That's one of the results of taking charge of security on the user side. If I were to remove my security I would get a pop up like you describe.

I'll tell ya Clay , I'm inclined to go with Treasure Hunter .... I think it's probably because I have to much security
and it gets a little to picky . Like I said ... it has caused no problems in any form . I just wondered if it popped
up on everybody . It's a non-issue , it was just a general " wonder if " question that I fully regret even posting .

Sometimes it's best not to just type out a random thought and post it . I'm guilty of that sometimes .
If I caused any members to worry about the security of the site I apologize for doing so .

I have a forum as well and got a call from godaddy yesterday. Seems google has changed some things around to get the boogey man scare into people with these pop ups just so they can sell you an add on to your site so its HTTPS.. for the low low price of 75 bucks a year they will set me up so my viewers don't see that pop up anymore. Piss on them. Just another way to extort money from us.
