Its been a rough year. My sister died Feb 21 and then My Brother April 17 2014. They were Twins.
My Bother Mike got me Started Treasure Hunting at 9, 41 years ago. With a Jetco Mustang. he Planted a bug that to this day still burns. I am posting a couple of Pics of a find we Made in 1973 or 74 I would have been about 10. We were hunting in this old Field and we found a old pocket watch and a file in the same hole. The pocket watch had if the pick is clear enough the name J. ALLEN scratched into it. also Kingsland Ga. now the story about the watch was this. Jim Allen was my grandfather first boss when he moved to Camden County in 1918/1919 one day Mr Allen had a sunstroke and the workers moved him up under a old Pecan tree till they could fetch the wagon to get him up to the big house. wHICH WAS BUILT 1853. When we showed this to my Grandfather in the 70's he said that Mr. Allen always kept a file in his pocket for sharping the axes because they also ran a sawmill there. And My grandfather things that when they picked him up to loaded him on the wagon his pocket watch and file fell out and we found it 50 plus years later. My brother was very close to me and even when he got sick he still wanted to treasure hunt. also Mr Allen died from the sunstroke my grandfather told us. My Brother is very dearly missed by his family and friends.
We talked 3 or 4 times a day even thew he was in Ga and Me in Texas. I just want to share the pics and story .
May he Have Peace now that he got his gold.
