From what I am reading this update is great for those of us that run into bottle caps regularly. Sounds like a great solve for making your hunt more productive. However, I rarely run into bottle caps where I hunt in the park woods. If I hunt in Field2, the mid tone targets (buttons) are found, but lots of falsing on iron (square nails). So I typically hunt Park1 which reduces the square nail falsing, but occasionally get the deep big piece of iron falsing. My target may be a piece of iron in 1 in 20 holes.

Hesitant to upgrade unless I’m missing some other useful improvements?

The nice aspect of the Minelab design is that you can easily revert to the 1.7.5 update if you don’t like 2.0.1.
If I were you, I’d give it try then decide if you want to keep it for your situation.
