Took another dive at my favorite beach today. Water is getting a tad warmer. Still can't make two dives there though. Found a 1947 quarter and 3 wheat's. Oldest wheat is 1928. Also got a 1942 king George.

I don't know what the one brass thing is. It is from a bank in the Hammond building in Detroit. The Hammond building was completed in 1889 and demolished in 1956.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammond_Building

My problem with this beach is it is totally different from last year. I haven't been able to figure out where I was last year and where I need to go this year. I still haven't found many of my landmarks. The one main one I found is the footing of this tower that was out in the water. This picture was taken in 1917. The funny thing about this tower is you can see people wading past it. Now the footings are in approximately 8 foot of water.

Anyway, I will find everything I did last year I am sure. Just will take time and patience.

The locker room held over 3000 men and 3000 women. Over 6 thousand people could be at that beach every day in the summer from 1909 - 1963. What is great about this spot is very little clad. a coin will be silver, nickel or a wheat over 99% of the time.

hopefully you will get it lined out pretty soon. waters can change so much, especially the bottom. I have enough trouble remembering where I actually pin pointed something if I take my eyes off of it. can't imagine being underwater

What are the odds of finding that 1234 tag?

LOL never noticed until you posted. Now I am going to have to go through all 360 or so of them to find if I have any other good numbers. I have been wondering how many duplicates I have.

I like the photo as well. Doesn't appear to be one overweight person out there, kind of shocking.

GPS??? I remember finding about 20 quarters in one spot in chest deep water. I marked the spot with an X.
When I returned the next day at low tide, I found that someone had removed my X.
Congrats on your finds Scuba.

I couldn't imagine wearing black clothing to the beach. Wearing a black t-shirt in this heat is unbearable.
