We went out to our usual field today. Found lots of flakes and a couple of pieces. I have some questions about a couple things...what is the piece that has 3 flat edges? It is about 3 inches longs. Also....the ball. It is very heavy for its size and has a slight flat spot on it. I know this pics are bad...I need to take more in natural light. Could it be a musket ball? or a native child game piece? Thanks...

Nice haul wildcatman. You have alot of interesting materials in your area. You said that ball is heavy, it's most likely a lead musket ball. The flat spot may be from where it impacted. Is the large three sided piece worked along the edges?

Any idea what the material of that hafted scraper is?

Hey thirty7...yes, it unusually heavy. My wife found it and was going to toss it....but the weight is what made her bring it to me. I figure it for a musket ball...but I have NEVER found one before....and really dont know. It was found in the same field where we have been finding all our stuff for the last 3 months.

Is it just me or does the glass/quartz piece have a face on it?

Yes it does. My wife picked it up out of the field....I thought it was pretty neat....and pretty unusual to find.

Nice finds and I was going to say that you have one with a face on it and could see this clearly , pic number 014 and then you took another one numbered 009. pretty cool . I have a metal detector, but don't get out anywhere to use it really . I do like to go junking also on property that people have just thrown trash on, never know what you will find .
