Todays Finds 3 1800s IH and a Sword Plate.... well.. the other half...

Hello..

Got permission to hunt a 1770s house this morning... thought I would get at least a couple of large cents... but none!! I did find the loop portion of a Sword Plate.. to fit a plate I dug a few years ago... the little buckle is a kepi buckle... I think... and two flat buttons... and some bullets...

**** I did not dig the plate today... just the other end... the plate came out of another camp about 2 miles away, I dug that years ago but I did not find the other piece.. now it is complete*****
Just want to clear that up.. I can't get "double credit" for the plate!!!

Great Relic!!! A Civil War Era buckle is quite an accomplishment! Any older coins, musketballs, or pewter silverware there?

Did you happen to find anything left of the wreath from the plate?

God I wish I found the wreath!! I only found the keeper yesterday.. I dug the Plate about ten years ago. but that was the first keeper I dug that fit it!! my post was a little misleading.. but hey.. I was tired from digging all day!! ;-) The IHs were the oldest.. and I was lucky to find those.. the yard has either been filled or turned a lot when the septic and drain field were added... I found a "No Trespassing" sign all manged up about 14" in the ground 20 feet off the house.. and one of the big flat buttons at about 1 1/2" It is going to take a long time to hunt this place!! 10 acres and there is so much trash it is unreal! I finally got so tired of trash I walked up the lot.. it goes up the mountain and started finding the 3 ringers... so there is good stuff there...

Well we did both find a sword belt plate recently LOL. I think we should both try to be the first to become Bucklesboy this year!
