Did $75 in Nickels and $25 in cents today, since I am low on funds this month and had a good haul. Found silver, two semi-key dates, two errors, and a a 75 and 76 year old coin. Heres what was Found

The nickel looks like it is worn and not struck through grease/grease filled die to me.

How can you tell if its a mint error or just damage from sleazying around in the wild since the 60s?

How can you tell if its a mint error or just damage from sleazying around in the wild since the 60s?

As you can see the 9, 5 and part of 3 are really lightly struck. That means that when the planchet went through the machine, it was struck, and those were really light parts due to the pre striking metal missing error. Best way to sum it up :)

Yeah, I don't know if the cent is an error or not, looks like it might be. I don't know too much on the non well known error cents.
