Went back to were I found the 1933 Worlds Fair knife today and found some change, sinkers and a .223 round. oldest coins 1961,1961d pennies, 1954 nickel, and (2) 1965 quarters. The odd thing is the two 1965 quarters don't look the same. The one I though was silver but they didn't mint any silvers in 1965 it just didn't tarnish. I separated the clad pennies from the coppers.

a mint mark signifies where the coin was made. S stands for the San Francisco mint. They made silver quarters and still do at the San Francisco mint. For proof sets and sometimes those wind up in general use.

This is true :-)

I don't see an S on it any place.
