I hunted an older house for an hour or so today, and didn't really find much. I was about to give up and go to another spot when I got a faint signal, I figured I might as well dig it and this is what I found. It's a "Mazuma play money" dime, made of aluminum. The front says "National Heroes Buffalo Bill 184* 1917 and has a image of old Bill on it. From what I can find these were a prize inside 1cent boxes of gum in the 1930's

Cool find. With Atlanta's history, there is no telling what you might end up finding there!

I'm actually in Olympia WA right now, but I'm moving back down south where I belong. I'll be living in New Orleans in a week or so, and I can't wait to swing my detector down there. ;D

Very nice. I love finding those old token/medal type stuff.
they are more interesting and sometimes evenn rarer and more unique
than the usual coin finds. I keep my token stuff in a seperate bag, they are
fun to collect.

Harry..

For the most part I have to say I like the little token relic type things more than most anything other than silver and gold.
