I went down to the river today due to the water level really low.

2 wheats. 1935 and 1939. The oily muck in the river is a great preservative. Look at them shine.

Can anyone guess the age of these frames for glasses? They look copper.

Is this part of a pocket watch?

A river hunt sounds like a good outing this time of year. So at least you cooled off and found a few things, that makes for a nice day. Congrats on your hunt !!

Cool plate. Its from a Dollar watch. I love how the oil sludge protected everything. I went to sacramento last week for work. I went for a swim in the hotel pool (I never swim but it was so bleeding HOT) I dove in and cracked the crystal on my watch. When I was done swimming I looked down at the time and saw holy Fogging mess going on inside the watch EEEEK! It is a Rolex so big time panic and Im out of town. I overbite fedexd it to my watch guy in Newport. He had it less than 48 hours after the tragedy. He sent me a picture and the watch was so rusty inside I could not even read the engravings on the movement. I should have went for a swim in oil!

Very nice hunt. I guess after some of the water that I have been in, oily water don't sound so bad.
Congratulations
