Found this spot while creekwalking a few summers back. There is a roughly 8x8 structure close to the creek and a larger foundation a dozen or so yards further in. I had thought the smaller structure might be a privy, but why would it be so close to the somewhat steep edges of the creek? That could be deadly at night. And the "homesite" is not exactly out of the floodplain as I understand it. So maybe it was just a seasonal camp of some sort. The only lead I had was that does does appear similar to a building technique used by Irish settlers using large flat stones fit together without mortar. But thats just a theory. If anyone has any ideas based on the pics let me know. I spent a couple hours here today with my Mojave. Lots of iron farm stuff. Someone else had been here digging as there was tons of stuff dug up and laid out not taken. Most of what I dug I took pics of and put back underground. Couple small glass bottle dump sites close by also.
