Today's Schoolyard finds - still streaking

Got out this morning and hit three schoolyards very near to my house here.

It was kind of slim pickins compared to all my recent luck but I did manage to get a keeper and a bunch of trinket jewery, and a few coins. All in all, a nice day, great to be out there!

At the first school, I found a silver chain bracelet hallmarked Italy 925 and its broke, missing the connecting ring at the clasp.

I also got a surprize. When I got home I immediately took photos of all my finds , junk and goodies, straight out of the pouch uncleaned which I will post below, and at the first place I found two trinket junk rings. Well, when I cleaned it up inside this evening, one of the ring is indeed 925 hallmarked. It has a pretty stone but is a kids adjustable ring. I have never found an adjustable ring that is silver. Bonus!!

At the second and third schools, no keepers except one beading link that may be silver, or not? Lots of trinkets today and trash...lots of trash...lol.

I almost forgot...
at school 3 I found a fired, brass jacketed 44 cal bullet. Scary huh. In the woodchip area of the school. You just never know what you'll find I guess.
It's in the bottom right of the "Finds 2" photo.

Best of luck to you all!

Re: Today's Schoolyard finds - still streaking

OK, today I kept track of everything and will post it all here for the non believers, stat freaks, and doubting Thomas' out there that may have been "Questioning" my finds. I have had some "nice" comments of late and also "nice" PM's.
Have fun crunching the numbers, they are spot on accurate.

I have some unique methods of hunting the woodchips and this is how I am able to get all these in the timeframe.

I took photos of school 1 finds and school 1 trash. (finds 1 and junk 1)
I hunted for 1 hour 13 minutes (73 minutes).
There were three woodchipped areas.
a 30 X 60 foot swing area
a 60 x 100 foot play structure area
and a small 20 x 30 foot tot lot
I found
23 coins
16 junk jewelry pieces
2 keeper jewelry pieces
83 pieces of metal trash (yep I counted...lol)
124 total finds

I will group school 2 and 3 together. Photos say "finds 2" and "junk 2"
Hunted for 2 hours 32 minutes (152 minutes).
There were 5 woodchipped areas.
one school only had a giant 120 x 160 foot play structure area
the other had three 20 X 50 foot swing area
and a 60 X 40 foot play structure area
I found
48 coins
23 junk jewelry pieces
0 keeper jewelry pieces
188 pieces of metal trash
269 total finds

I wish Everyone on TNet only the best of luck!
Happy hunting, hope you get some goodies!

Smiles!

Wow you did some digging, nice finds, our small schools around here don't give up any where near that amt of finds but who knows how many of us are out there detecting the same areas. HH

Why would some people think you didn't find your stuff ??? that wouldn't be fun just to put something on you claimed you found but really didn't .Whats the thrill in that ? LOL .

Anyway excellent finds today !

Maybe i should start showing my trash finds too ?? I have found plenty of it !! ;)

Thanks for visit Reddie.

Yes, why don't you at least once,
it's good to see what we are all actually digging,
although, in the woodchips, it isn't really "digging" is it.
A lot of stuff is right on top or just covered.

This trash pile is about normal for me, the coin total was a bit below average, and I am just lucky to get to keepers. At least I can feel good knowing that I pulled out some dangerous stuff out of there and maybe saving some little kid from being cut or punctured... like that razorblade or all the nails and sharp steel bits.

Thanks again and best of luck out there

Smiles!

I will try to get a photo of the hallmark using a magnifying glass like Jeff does.
I am too blind to see the maker mark logo but I can see 925.

Good luck Sherm!

Here's my attempt at a super close up trying to get the hallmark on the adjustable ring. I think you can make out the 925 at least but the maker mark get brighted out.

The ring did polish up nice with my jeweler's cloth.

Re: Today's Schoolyard finds - still streaking

Our buddy Tinpan helped me figure out all the numbers,
I am a huge stat freak and he has some interest too I guess.

Here we go:

one find every 34.351188 seconds.
(393 finds in 225 minutes or 393 finds in 13,500 seconds).
Kind of a slow day...lol

Or if you want to look at my "keeper" percentage that would be 2 out of 393 digs for a 0.0050901 percent. About 1/2 of 1% or 1 of every 195.5 digs is a keeper...lol. Not a very good day if you look at it that way, huh?

Friendly smiles!

Man, I can't keep up with you. You are finding this stuff so fast. And lots of good stuff. I was never a doubter. ;D When you detect with others from various places you learn a lot and see a lot. One thing I know - I am not speedy and efficient. Would never win any THing contests. ::) Now you look like a metal detecting madman! ;D ;D :D
