After another week of rain, we are pretty limited on where we can detect as so many fields are just to wet to get into, so we went back to the fields on the hill. I’m not sure what himself did all day but his contribution to today’s finds was just the one pre dec penny… 🙄 honestly I’ve put him on notice if he doesn’t up his game I will be advertising for a new detecting partner if anyone is interested… oh and they must have an amphibious vehicle 😆xx

I found this little spoon it was soo deep, I had to take a picture of the hole.. pin pointer for scale, then musket balls numbers 452, 453, 454,
455 and 456 and then bobbin shot numbers 66, 67, 68 and 69! Himself’s pre dec and my toasted pre dec and finally my best find William 3rd half penny (1689-1702) xx

The weather is crazy bursts of warm sun, followed by black skies and hail storm, back to strong wind and sun, so hopefully we will get out tomorrow….but 🤷‍♀️! xx

It’s amazing the history that you are recovering in those fields
Great pictures
I often wonder if those fields once had structures on them and were parts of towns or villages

Im rubbish at doing panoramic photos… so i did you a video😆…! I tried to zoom in so you can see the castle in the distance… not sure that worked.. 🤔… anhi here it is honestly its a stunning area and soo much history xx

Thank you… this is Croxton Park.. once the site of an Abbey until Henry the 8th got involved… it was then a hunting lodge for the Duke of Rutland… there is a race course on one part. But this side its just grass fields… with a Roman Road running thru it… you can see it on this picture between the wall and the tree line… unfortunately this side it runs thru a protected area so we cant detect because apparently the Moss is special 🙄… there is also still ridge and furrow on some of these fields. There is also a medieval enclosure somewhere where im standing taking the video… but not found anything to support that.. yet…! xx

The terrain hosts a vantage there for sure.
Hard to put the sneak on a wary resident thereof. Horses could add speed ; but still..
Add being on a roof and up the vantage /sightlines.

Nice!

More shot for the collection.
So Himself isn't producing?
I'll let you know my thoughts on this later.
Great depth on the spoon, that's down there.
Nice copper, many would be drooling over here over that one.
Though this isn't helpful with the silver count.
Yet it's a beautiful spot to be swing around.

Now it seems that Himself has a tad bit of gas in this video.
Less beans, cabbage, and Brussel sprouts might cut his wind down.

Always a treat to see your finds and photos Blossom.
That spoon hole was so deep I swear I see China? There’s a fortune cookie in there waiting for you. 🤪
Thanks for the post,
MM

That is one deep hole....did himself do the digging? Love your presentation....always nice to see England. :)

That is funny. :). I think I'd be staying close by...where the potential treasure is... :)
He has never forgiven me for putting his name in print ( “ Hole dug by…” ) when my Philip and Mary shilling appeared in Treasure Hunting magazine 😂😂😂 xx
