They do look silver. Hey, quick suggestion on taking close ups of coins:

If you have a digital camera, set it to slow shutter mode, i.e. the one with the little flower lol. Turn the flash off and hold the coin under another light source. This will give you the best detail when using only a digital camera. I would love to see a clear closeup of the 67 quarter, it is possibly an error coin with value.

i think the mark is just corrosion... ive been using my cell phone for photos, its ok for now look at my photos down below in todays under treasure coast bonanza those were ALL taken w a cell phone..
