Ships Colonies and Commerce Tokens

This is an extensive series of halfpenny tokens that circulated chiefly in Prince Edward Island between 1830 and the early 1860s. However, some of the varieties are known to have circulated in Lower Canada and Newfoundland. They are all listed under Prince Edward Island for ease of identification and pricing.

The two tokens dated 1815 were struck after 1830 and antedated to evade the laws prohibiting anonymous tokens. PE-9B has the reverse of a private token issued in the Isle of Man after 1830.

Your token is 9B. Can be either brass or copper, with the copper variety booking slightly higher at $35 in VG, $75 in Fine, compared to $25 and $50 for the brass. (probably a little higher now as my book is several years old)
