Tonights visit to the Emergency Room "warning graphic" updated pics

Thought I would share my latest adventure. I was opening the neighbors shed and got my finger caught in the latch. Not a complete amputation but close. Managed to pulverize the bone and ended up with 9 stitches. They managed to reattach the finger tip though. 3 of the stitches are right through the finger nail. Not a fun night at all. Hope your holiday is going better than mine. At least its the left hand and not my tattooing hand.

Took the 2 new pics this morning between dressing changes. Still real juicy. ;D

I will do my best not to repeat this. I am very attached or rather re-attached to my fingers. ;D

I have the best care I can ever hope for from my wife. It will take a while to heal though. The X-ray of the bone looked like a puff of dust.

Now that was a silly thing to go and do! ::) lol I would think those stitches through the nail itself would be horrid....Did they do any reinforcement for the dust portion of the bone? When dad cut his finger off it went right through the first knuckle so it was a little different plus we were unable to find the end to reattach....doggone saw spit it off someplace in orbit I think. lol Funny, he was very thankful it was the left hand and not his trigger finger.....what is it with you guys choppin stuff off? Grandpa got both hands chopped off in a veneer clipper even! ::) Sure glad you were able to get such good care so quickly and that it was your left hand so you can still do your artwork!

Thank you for the concern. ;D
The first stitch through the nail wasn't bad but the second was another story. That part of my finger wasn't numb, so I had to grin and bear it. She finally gave me another shot before the next stitch. As far as us guys cuttin stuff off, well you know. Chicks dig scars lol. :tongue3: Take care Cynangyl, and happy holidays.

I will do my best to stay attached to my parts. The best part of the whole thing was my nifty Daffy Duck bandaid the nurse put over the splint. Made me feel like a little kid. It was great. :tongue3:

Owww!!! Glad you're feeling better! I sliced the tip of one finger off once. That first pain shot was a killer - right into the open area.

You did a real number on that digit!

It could have been worse, and I'm glad it's not!!

Man, that's gonna leave a mark. I hope it heals soon. No time is a good time to have that happen, but in winter around Christmas would have to be the worst.
