After digging an undatable wheatie, several zinc pennies, a 1957 quarter and a whole lot of junk...My nephew found this 1972 1/2 dollar!
Whats the best way to clean this? Its in really good condition, even has all the ridges on the edge of the coin.

toothbrush, soap and water. the color is from the nickel content rusting. you probably won't get the original color back unless you put it in a tumbler or use a mechanical polishing device

Worked like a charm thanks! I think we have 2 new detectorists on our hands now
