hi JYD, isn't the match test fun? One of my fossils smelled, the other didn't! Bison tooth/anything is one of the things I'm looking for, good job. :icon_thumleft: I have a tooth I need to clean up, not sure what it is yet.

Me again, I cleaned my tooth, and tried to set it on fire. No burnt-hair smell, and it looks just like the lower molar 3 in Harry's pictures. Thanks for posting these pictures Harry, they are a good jumping off place. Now to read about bison vs bovine teeth. And just musing on that subject, Cattle weren't in my area till the late 1800's, and although a lot of cows died out in the country, wouldn't the majority have been butchered? And sent back east and north? While bison had populated the area for centuries, so maybe the odds are FOR finding more bison parts than cattle? Just wondering.
