Finally got out. I hit a tot lot between jobs today for an hour or so. Just as I was finishing, I got a +89 / half dollar reading on my MXT. I was having a hard time pinpointing and thought I was too close to the metal on the equipment. I kicked some chips away and swung again, getting a quarter reading. I spotted a piece of metal and scooped up this good sized .925 ring. First ring of the season for me (3rd silver)

congrats on your first ring! I like when I think it's going to be a quarter. I really like when i thinks its going to be a quarter and its a silver ring. Whats the weight on that? Looks pretty hefty.

Thanks. I don't know how much it weighs, but it is a little hefty. Where would I get one of those scales everyone uses?

Yea, Harbor Freight. Scales are amazingly cheap, until you get to the ones I use-carats. That triples the cost at a minimum.
