Well it’s about time I got the year’s stuff posted. Been waiting a while because I was counting the clad as I tumbled it. Anyway, the numbers speak for themselves:
Silver Coins
2 walker halves
11 Washington quarters
22 silver Roosevelt dimes
11 mercs
1 seated dime
1 Canadian dime
6 war nickels
1 silver 3 center
1 bust half dime
1 Canadian 5 center
total silver coins (including war nickels): 57 (one more silver than last year)
Wheats
163 Iceberg wheats
209 other wheats (about 30 of these may have been mistakenly misplaced and been Iceberg wheats also)
2 sliced halves from different wheat pennies
total wheats: 372 and the 2 slices
Other
1 Cuban coin: 1920 5 centavos
9 buffalo nickels
3 indian heads
7 silver rings
no gold rings…at least none anything more than plated
Clad
212 Quarters (14.7%)
85 Nickels (5.9%)
337 Dimes (23.4%)
804 Pennies (55.9%)
1 Kennedy Half
Total clad coins: 1439
Total face value of clad: $99.49
So it was a better year than I thought actually. Of course, it’s a good year just getting to go out My recoveries have gotten a lot faster which resulted in the clad count being higher than it otherwise would have, as we hardly did any hunts this year solely for the purpose of bulking up on clad (I about doubled last year’s clad value of only $49.13). Plus I worked a ton this summer. Didn’t get as many obscure older coins (besides that one 3-coin spill)….no barber anythings, only 3 IHs, no V nickels, no SLQs, etc. I did get one more silver than last year, and of course not nearly as many wheats due to the Iceberg getting a good milking the last couple years. Well thanks for looking yall, hope this year’s good for yall!
That one unforgettable pocket spill of 3 coins from the summer:
