It's great finding stuff like planes. Something not quite so ordinary.
The P-38 lightning was the plane flown in WW2 by americas highest scoring ace of all time, Richard Bong.

Nice find. I don't know if you have ever heard the story of the P-38 that was found in 10+ feet of ice and was recovered and restored. The aircraft was found and restored by a local to me businessman named Shoffner. The aircraft is flyable now and has been flown some. The aircraft and museum are here in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Nuts that someone would take such a venture to go far away and get that aircraft, but in the end I guess it worked out.

Thanks for the pic and find. Really cool.
