Any ideas on this? Found deep in the mud in South Central PA. Appears to be brass? FB_IMG_1498405277177.jpg

More pictures might help in the I.D.

Must say... you found an interesting item none the less.

Nice... this IMO is a stellar find.
I will again say... you have found something VERY interesting... and will lean towards a trade bowl.

This may be Native American.

I am also already leaning towards a banner find even though the I.D. hangs in "limbo" presently.

Finds like this one interest me greatly and have a tendency to get my research juices flowing... SO...

LEt me poke around...

In the mean time... perhaps another member here can shed some light on your item.

Super cool find.

I think some wooden african bowls have simular markings at the top. Very cool bowl, I hope you get an ID. I bet that was a pretty solid signal. Congrats!

It hit 90 on the at pro. I thought it was an old pot that was worthless until i saw the designs carved into it. I think the deep mud and clay helped perserve it? .

Bump to the thread...
as to keep this in "spotlight" in hopes of an I.D.

I have not had a chance yet to "get into" the research on this... yet.
