Had an opportunity to hunt a friend's permission on Thursday and it is a challenging area where trash seems to have been pushed around by re-grading. Some of the older finds included a brass drawer pull, top finishing brass piece to a lamp, hemweight and then this piece that I was sure was trash. The target was shallow (4 inches) and had the appearance of aluminum when I got it out of the hole. Turns out to be Sterling and is marked "LSCO STERLING". No idea yet of the date.

It may have been discarded as 'trash' when silver was more common place but in this day and age it's treasure. Nice find!

Yup, it's a belt buckle. I've found a couple that were very similar to yours. Yours looks like the style that the Hickok brand made, mostly in the 1950s and 60s. Nice find!
