CANTON —

The Canton Police Department has received several complaints from citizens regarding non-payment of checks they received after THR & Associates purchased their coins and gold at Main and Locust streets during the month of April.

Coin, gold buyer requests those whose checks could not be cashed to notify them - Canton, IL - Canton Daily Ledger

It is not 1980. "Floating" checks does not work so well anymore.

It does when you are only buying coins over the weekend. You can be gone before the banks open and they find your check is no good.

First, I can't believe people are stupid enough to sell to people like this at half the value (or less), but to do it without getting cash for it is just plain stupid.

I have dealt with"traveling" gold buyers in AZ while prospecting. They only buy for cash. They pay spot - 10% unless it is gold in Quartz, in which case you could get more than spot for a good looking piece. This was several years ago though. hand print-2_edited-3.jpg
