I finally got to get out after 5 days of no hunting... We had a nice little snowstorm... Anyways this is the only thing I found... What is strange is where this was found there is no civil war activity that I know of. I have not found any civil war artifacts in this town ever! They may of passed through this area before anyone else was even here since the area dates only to the 1880s... Or it was something passed down till it was finally lost... Now it sure looks like it has been in the ground 150 years!

I love trying to figure out how something got where I found it...

I know its just a button but its where I found it that makes it special! and its the best condition of any of my civil war buttons

I've wondered the same about some of my finds like that too...I could be wrong but I think these things were issued to the military in general, so that doesn't mean they had to actually be involved in the War, like on the field. Texas, hmm...i dunno lol cool tho.

Thanks...

I have been hearing that a regiment or two did pass through this area... I am researching it now...

That is a really nice button, chukers!

I just realized after your comment that it is! most I find are flattened and bent all out of shape... this one is a bit pitted but its in perfect shape except for the eyelet... Thanks
