Hi all, been hunting around a small area which was known as Battery Hill. Theres about 20 gold mines on the hill and a lot of small diggings and tailing piles spread along the creek. total area covers about 2 square miles, in the 3 days i spent there i only covered the areas that looked promising.Beening late autunm the winter rains have started and 2 inches fell over night. The clay turns too thick mud and the roads become rivers so ,i might have to wait to spring to get back to this site. Finally managed a whole buckle and few nuggets and some relics.

There pic taken in the gold miners days to give an idea how things were.

thanks for the reply, Mostly found between the creek and half way up the hill. the high flat ground where the horse drawn gold puddling machines were. The hard rock mines up the hill a bit the ore was graded so there not much to be had in those tailings. The puddler clay has had the best results so far.
