Tried Finishing the Barley Stubble Field...

Dad spent 3 hours on new land (picture 1) with very little to show, so picked me up after work & we continued with the best option (right now).


Only spent 2.5 hours on the Barley Stubble Field Field but the recent rain has highlighted so many signals we could hardly move, so never finished off the area we wanted.

Not only did I get another 2 Hammered but we got 8 Roman Bronzes (picture to follow, as Dad took them to record there details)

I like the 2 Medieval Casket Keys
More Lead Tokens
Tudor Book Clasp
Silver Plate
& Bits

We have GPSed 200 recordable items from this field, thats Medieval & older
We will return to finish it soon

Yes, & not sure on the heavy clipped one, looks to be another York. 15 hammered off this field & can't get a shortcross

Yeah, them hawkers are poor & even poorer now

Yeah, me too. But, I manage to ausage my jealousy by using my imagination on some of his finds. For instance, the obverse of his last coins posted; the one on the left looks like a Jester with 3 teeth showing. And the one on the right looks like a Cocker Spaniel with a crown on.

Especially this upper one with a kidney shaped bow. They are like a symbolic key to treasures that caskets once held I would say ca 15th - 17th century but I'm sure that you can tell better,

The smaller one is actually 13-14thc and the larger 16th
