I typically am what most would call a coin shooter.....I love early american silver coins....well yesterday i tried something new....some of you may call it cherry picking....I call it make it home before dark!!! I had my friend drop me off about 6 miles from my house at a place where i knew of 2 celler holes in the woods on state land. My intent to hike all day...about 12 miles worth of trails...explore....find new places to hunt...and hopefully find soemthing good. The day was beautiful, 73 degrees and slightly overcast with a breeze...amazing. I spent the first few hours hitting some older celler holes dating back to the early to mid 1800's that ive been to before....and also like before....only found relics and no coins...I did find the niec dog coller with 3 years worth of dog tags on it which was cool :icon_thumleft: also found a pair of suspender buckles which was really cool....and a few whatsits and odds and ends relics.....i continued on after eating a PB&J and getting my energy level up for the long haul infront of me. The majority of the trials are actually a network of old roads that were part of a Civilian Construction Corps camp that build the state park about a mile down the road....i was able to explore a series of paths but only a small fraction of what I had wanted....the day was ageing fast and i knew i wouldnt make it home before dark. I pulled a few wheaties out of the main road and eventually a nice 1930 merc. I attempted to shoot a video which was fairly blurry but ive been asked to post videos lately so against my better judgement i'll post it. Please excuse my squirrely nature in the video, it was 2:30 in the afternoon by that point in time and I was already spent with another 5-6 miles to walk. Overall a nice day all around, whish the celler holes produced some coins but maybe next time when i have more time to focus on one hole and not 10 min per hole :( It was def fun though bouncing from hole to hole, changing the scenery, only ran into one couple that walked by...enjoy the pics and vid and Happy Hunting!!

Oh yea I posted some whatsits if you want to give it a try....

Now that collar is really something. Here's hoping you get a few large coppers (or some silver?).

Nice dog collar, I guess the missing middle one had the dogs name/owner on it :-\ :icon_thumright: If it needed 1935 would they have taken an old one off (assuming it was never lost) :icon_scratch:

Nice job on the rcon mission and finds. I found a slt/peper shaker top like that one last year. Looks like you had your share of shot shell bottoms too
