Hit the park from the other day again today even though I had no intentions on going out because I have the graveyard shift tonight, what can I say im hooked! :tongue3: so I stayed close to home and the park was calling my name!

Right off the bat my first two signals were wheats, 1941 and 1944, then signal #3 was a mid 50s occasional 60 and out pops a 1942p war nickel, SILVER #42 on the year, a cpl wheats later and I get that nice mid 80s occasional 90 signal and im thinking silver quarter, so I do a live dig and it was silver, but not a quarter, a 52 roosie!, SILVER #43 on the year!!, a few clad and trash signals later I get a mid 70s tone and out pops this nice sterling kids ring!, SILVER #44 on the year! that's a triple silver day from a park! Plus I actually dug a fired roundball with all the nice white patina on it!, that roundball is one of my favorites, truly awesome dig in my opinion! HMMMM I just may be a believer in public places lol

enjoy the pics!, thanks for looking and HH!!

I had my best day ever at a public place. It makes sense. Where people go, people drop stuff.

Then again, there are some great spots where nobody goes anymore, but used to.

So what exactly is that long thing?? I have found many of them and always thought they were old hair barrettes. I even found a few with middle clip part attached, like the OP stated, I just through them out.

... But if you tell them the tenant said it was okay often they will then say okay. Give it a shot. Can't hurt.

Can't hurt, unless, the owner calls the renter to yell at him for giving permissions on "his" property. In that case, the little white lie just might cause a world of grief for the renter and label you as a liar. (SIC Starts the glittering generality: all metal detectorists are liars!)

Could just show up and start detecting, without saying anything to the renter. When he comes out, just tell him another little white lie. Like, you're working for the owner and he wants to know where an underground pipeline goes. ;)

Of course, if he did give you permission, that would be different. Just playing devil's advocate. We do need to be careful about what light we shed on this hobby. It can get pretty difficult. :dontknow:

Yeah, I agree. I want to be welcomed back again. The owner has every right to say no...he is the one that pays the taxes after all. I think if someone knocked on my door and asked if they could detect my property, I would be in the " no " sector, lol. Personally, I would much rather be told no straight out than to be led on as they decide how to say no without hurting my feelings.

thanKS tom! I'm dumbfounded at how many goods are in this place, it's a small park but it's kinda tucked away near the river, maybe people just missed it

The long thing is definitely an organ reed. A lot of people had reed organs in their homes many years ago. That is indicative of an old home site being nearby. Definitely some super cool finds!!! I have yet to get on the silver train...
