AARC,
1st, they give a history lesson, about everything we already know.
2nd, they opine about how they feel about it,
3rd, they opine about how all the ppl in world feel about it,
4th they conclude (usually), with the negativity of it all,
and then 5th, they ask, "can you help us out here some, with that"?

I'd tell them, "No. NO I can't! NEXT"
As I mumble under my breath..."no, there's absolutely nothing I'll ever be able to...
… as my breaths & words are wasted on some"....
I'd need a Fifth, after dealing with them.... :laughing7: be nice…
just so ya know how I feel about it/them.... >:(

Here's what we liked... ;D
The governors are given the ball to run with in their states. Why?
Because what may work in Idaho, might not work in Florida or NY.... :dontknow:
Gov's, get what you can, from wherever you can, any way you can, use your contacts/resources.
In Broward, atm, their asking private surgical ctrs & dentists to pls donate mask & respirators.
(they can retool/refit to make them accommodate for job)

Even saying, if WE turn out to be a competition to a State (in the procurement of goods)
WE will step back to allow the States bid win (or however they working this).
there was more, but you get my drift...

Again, the definition of Humility is: "The ability to perceive & cooperate with others,
for their good intentions".
It comes with a promise, that you will inherit the earth. Why?
Because in human nature, when one gives of self, to cooperate with another
for their good intentions, in return,
when others perceive of your good intentions,
they are more prone to cooperate with you!
The world is yours, anything is possible, make of it what you wish...
...starting to see how this works yet.... :icon_scratch: :laughing7:
vs. having someone fighting you along the way,
making your task feel difficult, like your dragging a
railroad tie around your neck, while trying to do it!
Simple. If you ain't helping, you won't be allowed to hinder!

Well I'll accommodate you once more AARC,
as I have a moment, in between my corned beef & cabbage...
There's folks that just want to fight this "quarantine" we've been handed.
Put the energy into fighting this virus, we ain't seen nothing yet!
Here's my little pre typed rant. Your welcome.

Think what you all will. I choose to self quarantine, knowing I can "unquarantine" any time I want.
I'm not sick(cv), but unlike many, I don't have 100's or 1000's of acres to roam on.
I have a small 1/4 acre. In the middle of Broward Cty Fl, of all places. :BangHead:
We finally got most of the foreign tourists out of here.
Sent the little pod eaters packing(beware of them, I'm for real).
And every time you go out into, what can be considered a 3rd world "septic tank over a cesspool" here, you think,
"Great! Now I got to go 14 days and start over"!
to see whether you caught it, or not

Here, we can't tell from where, who, when, how.... we'll catch it.
Why do I make this choice?
Because I care about others! I Love my fellowman, enough....
IF, I carried this virus, and spread it, I'm not so cold, that I wouldn't have a hard time, forgiving myself.
I have at home, what I think is a castle and everything I need.
Most ppl Pray they'd get time off, spend at home with family, well, here it is!
And we get a bunch a sniveling cry baby (muh constitution) drama queens!
That constitution won't mean nothing to a corpse!

Enjoy your beautiful homes, your beautiful families, enjoy Life!
That almighty dollar will still be out there to earn.
I'm sure everybody got plenty to do around home, too.
Many ppls' kids, need some direction from real adults, help them!

During the '50's my parents had to close their restaurant & truck stop, and move.
My uncle & aunt spent 3 to 4 years in the TB hospital, back in the '50's, and my parents laid they're lives down to raise their 3 children for them, and folks can't do 2 weeks for their fellowman?
My uncle, who passed a few yrs ago at 96 yrs old, signed over his house, car, bank accounts, to my Mom his sister, and handed her & my Dad his children. His children...
Knowing they may never see each other again.
That, my friends, is Love and trust!

I probably won't reply in regards to this post,
as everyone has opinions, and you're all entitled to them.
I'm not going to measure my life & situation, by the one you may be in or have.
Each has to make their own choices, given the lot that's been rolled for them.
I fear Gods' virus more than I fear losing my rights, atm.
I'm going to take care of me. I don't wait for others, to do it for me.
I went for bird food & gas Friday. Today is day 1. :BangHead:

Good luck folks.

Look what one man did in his life, laying it down,
so you all might have life, more abundant & free....
You're being asked to sacrifice 2 weeks, for your fellowman & country,
and that's just too much, for some.... pathetic, imho.
Good thing we ain't at real war, folks!

ok, rant over :laughing7:

Did I hear, 700+ in Italy died, today?
Did I hear that right?
Their about the size of Florida, huh...

(the phone just rang reason I didn't hear Italy #'s)
my city calling, to inform us
everything's closing, what little is open,
pay your electric bill online, by phone, or drop off.
FPL suspending disconnection through MArch.
Too many type stores remain open, too list/type
there will be small business relief
our town hotline has been activated,
adhere to social distancing
for more info, go online(which is being throttled, they running that quantum computers non stop, and everyone online using the bandwidth)
that was the butt of the msg.
Yeah folks, we could lose internets, thought about that one?
whaddayagonnado…..

Of the total number of reported cases worldwide on 3/16/202, 3.8% had resulted in Death vs 45.8% who had Recovered.

Five days later, as of 3/21/2020, those numbers have risen to 4.2% resulting in Death vs 31.1% who Recovered.

These figures do not include the folks who have tested positive but have not experienced severe symptoms.

On 3/16/2020 - Out of 169,610 total reported infections, roughly half, or 49.6% were severe cases.

As of 3/21/2020 - Out of 303,433 total reported infections, 35.4% have presented with severe symptoms.

This indicates that while the percentage of Severe cases over all has gone down at the moment, the Death Rate for those cases has risen, which means that your chances of dying from a severe case are Real and going up.

At this point it's a crap shoot which cases will be severe and which won't. Incoming reports vary from claims that only those with compromised immune systems and/or the elderly are at risk, to reports that the majority of severe cases have been in those aged 25 to 50.

Personally, I don't like the odds. Might as well play Russian Roulette when the stakes are this high and you choose to be complacent. As Miss Pat so eloquently stated, I'm self quarantining, as should everyone else without a deathwish IMHO. As limiting as that may be, and even with the hardships it imposes, I will still help anyone and everyone I can -in any way I can- from a distance. It's the Right thing to do.

That said, does anyone have any idea how long this may last?

I'm down to 2 bottles of Woodford Reserve and getting tired already of the wife banging on the door of the camper wanting me to let her in. :-\

Everyone (myself included) will be reminded as we moved through this that statistics is a very complicated matter.
It is impossible to simply do basic math with the extremely limited numbers they are providing us.

There are so many variables which slant the perception of the data. You can almost present or interpret the data however you want.

I have heard from several sources that 50% of the cases in the Bay Area are people that are included in the homeless population. If true, it certainly isn’t being reported and no steps are being taken to address that specific aspect.

I say this because I was simply dividing the deaths by the number of cases to figure out how lethal this virus is...not so simple...I was making incorrect assumptions.

My daughter mentioned to me that she had read where a large percentage of Germany’s cases were young people that were vacationing in Italy...then got sick when they got home. That might explain their low number of deaths compared confirmed cases. Each country has different demographics and genetics.

The infection rate of the virus is higher than influenza, your contagious sooner, over whelming the nation's hospital's ability to handle severe cases of pneumonia is the danger, not all viruses are the same.

T_H your correct. What bothers me is that here in Ca. There are orders that many businesses close down or severely alter the nature of how they provide services...fine -> drastic steps to curb the spread.

Problem is, while small businesses are going out of business...the soft nature of the “shelter in place” orders has led to very little change in my rural area. People are traveling around, shopping..going to Walmart, McDonald's...etc. all the while a small cafe is likely going bankrupt. Truthfully in rural areas, it is possible to travel around and carry on with your life without encountering a single person as long as you don’t go shopping around.

I’m just not sure we are taking the appropriate steps.
