I use steel wool-- a package will last a good long time. Use 1/4 of a pad and cut it up with old scissors. Add a few pieces of aluminum foil to keep the steel from rusting and discoloring your coins. Also want to run your nickels, pennies, and especially your zinc pennies separate. Be careful when you empty your tumbler and handle coins, as the steel slivers are small and sharp.

You can also use pumice, like in a cheap powder cleanser (Bon Ami).

It may take some experimentation to find what works best for the corrosion from your area.
