I have a new (2 months) carrot and it is a vast improvement over the old pro but it is hard to turn it off // push very hard and hold till it goes off/ is this normal?? Perry

Yes.....you have to hold the button for a few seconds. If you hit it twice 2 times, you change the setting you are in.

i dont have to hold mine hard, just hold the button, not much pressure. there are times when i dont get a signal with it, the light is on, so i sweep it to my digger to check it and nothing. so, i turn it back on and off again and it works fine. anyone have that issue?

I just push mins normally for a couple of seconds and it turns off. I don't like this feature really and prefer the old Garrett actually.

It's a great pinpointer and I can't say I dislike it. The only issue I've had with mine isn't it's fault it actually is mine. I forget not to put it down by any metal and half the time I dig it will be beeping off on my shovel or something else

yes, it is a pain. i put it back in the holder and it beeps or put too close to the coil or the digging tool, etc etc etc. but, i would have to be on a hunt without it. i always carry an extra 9 volt in my pouch as my battery died one time, so i just went home. seriously. that tool makes life so much easier!

This is correct. WAY eaiser than a few other brands with the button on the end. If you have gloves on they are a huge pain to turn off and on.
