Excellent specimens of what's colloquially called "Turritella Agate" from the Eocene Green River Formation. The gastropods preserved in it are of course not marine-originated, true Turritella genus varieties, but rather they constitute fresh water snails called, scientifically, Elimia tenera.

Here are a couple of true Turritella gastropods I collected from the marine, middle Eocene Avenal Sandstone, California, several years ago:
