I could not even image! I remember the day about 25 years ago when I found my first gold ring...I jumped up and down and actually ran in the park! Now when I find gold or silver I can control myself...But finding that gold coin.....man you are the man!!!! What a find you did something we all just dream about!!! Go out and have a great dinner or do something special you deserve it! That is one of the best finds I have ever seen!!!! By the way....I think that would have caused me to run around and start jumping again!!! I even had my kids come look at it!!!!! 8)

Oh yeah, I was pretty darn excited when I found it! I actually started running toward my son (he was at the car about 100 feet away) ~ after all the inital excitement my son said his first thought from the look on my face that he thought I got bit by a snake! After about 10 or 15 minutes I went to go back to find the hole I dug in the field ~ I took out my UniProbe to check the hole again after the gold coin ~ I found a big rusty nail, then the 1912-S Barber Half, then another big rusty nail!

if I were you at least the gold one would be on its way to either PCGS or NGC. Depending on its condition (if it has large scratches, abrasive cleaning, etc.) PCGS or NGC will not grade them. NGC has a branch called NCS that will authenticate it and give it a details grade and encapsulate it.

I just happened to bump into Oddcoins today at the coinshop, man that piece looks way better than the pics do. It does have quite a bit of wear, but no noticeable detracting defects like scratches or gouges on it. Very nice piece! I swear the guy was STILL shaking, LOL!

What an amazing day on several counts; first the finds, then the lack of more . I do have a question, as an XLT user: what kind of signal did you get on the Eagle? At least I know what the Barber is like. Congratulations.

It's been a week today since I found the gold coin ~ I finally took the coin out and did an "air test" with my XLT ~ it comes in a solid +69 . . . . . . now I'm thinking back to all those +69 Zinc Cent targets that I passed up . . . . . HOLY CRAP!! I need to get back out there & dig 'em ALL!! LOL
