Went to a local park and knew it had been pounded and plundered over the years, but thought to myself you never know. Started out working my way through the middle of a common area in the park when I thought that's what every other guy and gal swinging a detector has probably done. So, I took a minute and stood back and looked around the park and it's perimeters. I noticed the ground was actually a little bit mounded and just a little higher along a fence line bordering the park from a neighboring house. My hunch paid off more than once. I dug the regular trash, clad, odds and ends, and then came MY VERY FIRST EISENHOWER DOLLAR. 1972 PHILADELPHIA. Wow what a coin to see in the dirt. As I was unearthing it, I was actually suspicious of a coin, but then it dawned on me. Holy sh!#, that is a coin. Have been fortunate to find an early 1800's Large Cent, but this Ike is a whopper. Was pumped but was getting tired and the mosquitoes and gnats were about to carry me off, so I was thinking about wrapping it up when BAM. Another FIRST FOR ME. A LADY'S GOLD RING. I had found a lady's 10 gold class ring last year but, this type ring was a first. Needless to say, it was a good day.
