Two Hammered. Updated..Henry11.

Got back on a field we lost 18 months ago this was due to a badly organized Sunday dig that wasn't supervised, it is also the field were I found the Farmers Wedding ring he lost 18years ago

Anyway we though we would ask again, and he said OK we have had a few Hammered of here before, infact Michael had 9 in one day, mostly cut half's and quarters. Second dig into the field and I had my first Hammered...a cut half short x but it took awhile for the second, a bent short x this time a full one, which looked like it had some nice detail

Michael suffered today not getting a Hammered, these were the only two to show, but the stubble was quite hard and we will be back when it's ploughed

I'v included a nice shot of a half Groat I found at the weekend which I never got around to posting

LMAO....Glad to see you guys are plagued with them every once in awhile as well ! Awesome Short X Hammereds Colin!!! That one bent in half looks to be in really good shape, for that matter, so is the half. The Groat is a beauty to behold as well. Congrats my friend!!!

I thought at first this Hammered was a King John...11999-1216, it turns out that it's a bit scarcer. The coin is a Henry11 short cross..1154-89. Worcester Mint, Moneyer Godwine.

This is my first Hennry11 full short cross coin

Thanks they don't come along all that often, had some of the Tealby coinage, but this is the first short cross
