Two interesting finds at parent's yard today.

Had a few minutes to kill before I left to pick up my son after mowing grass at parent's house this morning.
Both of these were within 5 feet of each other and about 5-7 inches down.
They are pretty corroded...any tips on what I could do to clean them up better??

They were found in the town of Sullivan, which I can see part of that on one of the coins.

Nice piece and can be dated to 1900. The other piece I didn't find anything that helped out. It appears to have a 50 cent denomination and to say Sullivan. Tokecatalog didn't have any Sullivan listings that appeared to me to help. If you can get it cleaned up and find a few more details it would be interesting to find out.

doesn't look like your soil likes tokens very well. cool finds, even though in rough shape

No...not at all. But still very nice to find!

Toothbrush and water and a little bit of soap. Where it is really corroded, you can buy some silver testing acid and place a few drops of that and water on it and let it soak for a little while and then rinse. I would be careful in using the acid on something really nice and be careful with your hands. You could probably use anything that is acidic, but I would think that it would take something stronger then lemon juice to clean it.

I did a little googling and found that the smaller token is from O. M. Patton poultry in Sullivan, Indiana. I don't know what year (s) it would be from though.
I'm guessing late 1800s to early 1900s.
