Went back to the old school site today and dug a my first Indian Head, an 1893 and my first Buffalo nickel....The penney was about five inchess down but the nickel was laying on top of the ground about five feet from where I dug the penney.....Ground wasn't hard and and had plenty top soil.....so why was the nickel laying on top of the ground? ???

Congratulations on the firsts !! My guess is it was dropped by another treasure hunter. :icon_scratch: I've had coins stick to my shovel and I presumed as lost signal... :tongue3: Only to find it later on the ground or stuck to my shovel. :laughing7:

WOW!!!! Really nice finds!!! I haven't found anything that nice, but I hope I will eventually! :icon_thumright:
