Two Silver Dimes in Two Different Hunt Sites....

I hunted two different places. The first place is the big park in San Francisco that has been pounded to death by a thousand guys with metal detectors over the years. To my
surprise out pops a 1935 mercury dime at 4 inches! How did that get missed? Also dug up some wheat pennies from this same area.

In the area where I live I received permission to hunt an area that had a lot of foot traffic since the 1850's. the last time I hunted this area
I dug up a beautiful seated dime, so my hopes were up. Well, I didn't get a seated , but I did dig a 1927-D mercury dime.
It was 4 inches down in the middle of a trail. The 27-D merc was my first with that date & mint mark, so I'm getting closer to digging a complete
set of mercury dimes.. . ..I just need 10 more. ( I'll probably never get there, but perhaps close..) From this same area also dug out 2 wheaties, a Chinese coin, and a silver ring.
So the secret is....find old original dirt that had lots of foot traffic!
