One piece of a vast collection of rocks/minerals/artifacts found in Keenewah County, Michigan by my Great Aunt and my Great Grandpa sometime between 1946-1989. They kept no records, or ledgers of any kind. My Aunt just put all their finds in old glass jars. Peanut jars, pickle jars, mason jars...hundreds of jars of rocks. They filled every outbuilding and she even buried some of them! Ive never seen rocks like these anywhere else. It never gets old admiring them. Im hoping this forum will help me identify some of her finds I haven't been able to identify on my own. Here is the first of MANY mystery rocks 20181218_122235.jpg 20181218_122729.jpg 20181218_122428.jpg 20181218_122311.jpg

I dont see anything other than quartz and feldspar in those images, no sign of dolomite/stone or other rock..

Druzzy quartz mostly. I'm not so sure about feldspar, I'm more inclined to think the lighter radiant material is a form of chalcedony or something bordering it.

If you could download a magnifier app, or just zoom all the way in on your camera and get a pic of the black areas that would be helpful. The quartz is hematite-included or ferruginous quartz. Can't quite put a finger on the light fibrous growths, but probably a form of plagioclase feldspar (has a platy habit as shown on the side of the most recent pic). Black looks like an iron oxide - goethite, magnetite. Lots of iron in that specimen. Can you test it for magnetism? Will be very weak if at all...
