Greetings:
I hope this post is not too far out of line considering the forum. I have noticed many UK posts here, so I thought I'd give it a go.
I am researching the legend of Braddock's treasure. Supposedly, it is located near the Braddock Battlefield in southwest Pennsylvania, USA. At this point, I just want to determine whether the legend is grounded in fact or fiction.
Is there anyone in the UK willing to share their knowledge/expertise on the subject? Basically, at this point, just to answer some questions. Questions such as:
1. Did the British pay their colonial soldiers in coin or script?
2. Is there a repository of war records, inquiries, and other primary documentation covering the event?
I hope someone is interested. I apologize for intruding on the main topic of this forum. Thank you.
