The results of the day sure made me wonder if I had a senior moment today. Ok, so
what's WIF talking about this time!?!

Well, it's just that AFTER the "on the way back to my car", I found this laying in the highway:

2015 (412).jpg

Must be a new fangled dirt fishing machine? :dontknow:
Rather a unique find on a dirt fishing trip, eh? LOL

Anyway, on to more relevant things.

Went back to the same place I went last time, heavily hunted. Still, found a few:

2015 (413).jpg
2015 (414).jpg
2015 (415).jpg
2015 (416).jpg 2015 (417).jpg

Whole wheat toast.

2015 (418).jpg

Fishy has an eye on his new Spidey car.

2015 (419).jpg

Blingie says he thinks he'll call this one...........lunch!!! ;)

2015 (420).jpg

It says "HECHO EN MEXICO UF 925" With the letters "FM"

All in all, a pretty nice day of shadow hopping.

Thanks for peeking!

Can't go wrong with a new fly rod as a bonus.

I guess the fly rod was in the carrying bag? Probably in very nice shape I bet! Looks like cork near the reel. Some of those can be pretty expensive. Nice hunt especially in the heat.

Looks like someone won't go fly fishing for some time. Good haul found there.

Ummm, that rod and reel may be worth about 10x more than your detector. Please post some close-ups of them.

Oh yeah, guys! I KNOW it's a VERY nice rod and case! In a former lifetime I used to do some fish, fishing too. (Don't tell Fishy!)

Might want to put an ad on Craig's List like tylerbdad did -- I'm sure the owner of that rod was not too happy to lose that--though hard to imagine how it was lost. Then again I did find about $1000 of shrink wrapped custom molding once on the road. I called the local cops at the time to see if anyone lost it. No Craig's List back in those days.

Don't worry guys, I'm actively seeking the owner. Like I said, I used to fish and I know what a favorite rod means. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I suspect it must've bounced out of either a pickup truck's bed or a boat or maybe, they left it on the roof of the car.

Well you've got the "fishing" covered from all angles!
Blingie's got silver, fishy has another red car, and I take it Mr turtle didn't swallow any treasure!
You really have a talent for "finding" treasure, with or with out a detector (the detector was probably in the car when you found the rod/reel).
Nice whistle and a wheat! You certainly did a lot of digging!
Congrats! Very nice finds!

I got out, may post later.

We (the collective of cool TNetters) would expect nothing less from you, Whadi. But please, the OCD in me can't rest until you straighten out the bent tail/wing on your pretty sterling butterfly. Just a little pair of needlenose pliers....Sub 8-)

That's good stuff as usual! Hope you can find the owner of the fly rod. The snapping turtle is pretty cool too.

Yeah, well, it wasn't bent until Blingie started in on it. I can't seem to find it right now. You don't think he really had lunch!?!

Yeah, Mr. Monk, I know. But, actually, I'm afraid that if I try to bend it back, it will break off. :dontknow:
