H 100_5708.JPG 100_5709.JPG 100_5710.JPG elp to ID projectile(?).Has rifling marks,looks old(white patina on part of it).Found at Union campsight in Md..500 dia..next to .54 & .69 cal.bullets(pic.)found nearby.Have referenced all know bullet ID sites online.......nothing comes close!

that is a modern black powder bullet usuallu the groves are caked with bore butter

Thank u,the places I've been are near present day wildlife/hunting areas.Of course I've found a few modern day bullets,but none like this 1.It has the white oxidation on the bottom which made me think it was an older 1.I've learned to not get too excited about these things until I could verify them.Who makes these?

Check muzzle loaders on the net. They are made by all the popular brands and sold at Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc. for deer hunting.

It only takes a few years to get oxidation in some soils & conditions. I shoot muzzleloaders (do most of my firearm hunting with them) and I dig my practice backstops up to reuse and recast the lead. A five year old ball can be completely white with oxidation.

That one was correctly identified as a T/C Maxi-Ball. Mid 1960's to right now on Cabelas' website.

yep that one is "modern" ..now the other two are old ones..civil warish era
