unusual find,lead knuckles ?

dug this the other day near a old foundation at about 6 inches deep.i think it's made of lead because its heavy for it's size and the patina.it looks to be old but have no idea really.

during the civil war era "lead knuckles" where a common in the trenches ...hand to hand fighting weapon ...since brass was a vital war metal in the south and lead was common .. lead was used instead of brass ..., they were bad news to get hit with..

Really cool find. I dug a set of brass knuckles from a Cavalry privy, brutal last ditch weapon.

Nice find. I found one in a set of woods a few years back, but mine aren't to old, they are made of brass. According to where I was, they probably just belonged to some gang banger.
