Because the ear ring probably fell out of the lobe without the owner knowing it. She got home to discover she only had one left. Somewhere in a jewelry box in the suburbs is the matching ear ring!

Or maybe she discovered while still at the lake that she had lost an earring, and, not wanting to look goofy with only one earring on, put the remaining earring in her pocket with her pennies (just before she lost them all).  The matching earring is probably still out there.

In the areas around schools, where there are hot spots of coins where the kids hang out, it may just be a coincidence that the earring fell on top of the two pennies making it appear they were lost at the same time. Just a though, who will really ever know?

Get digging and sharing CG. Thanks and good luck!

Smiles!

mlw67 probably has the most logical answer. the earring was most likely in a pocket when she lost it and ended up with all the other coins.
