All good questions ;) I have checked some records, and can't seem to find any info on exactly what these walls are...or why they were there. Hmmm. The search continues. I guess the first step might be to detect these areas and see what turns up...might be easier to date this way, and I can then do some research from a known starting point/time frame.

Try TerraClient. It gives better pics (although in black and white) of rural areas. I'm not sure if TerraClient works internationally, but it's worth a shot.
