US Airforce Silver Ring

Got out with Freddy67 this afternoon for a half day dig.
Only got one keeper, but I think it a pretty good one...you tell me ?

Also if anyone can put an exact ID on it would be great, the ones I see online all seem to have two eagles on either side, mine has eagle one side, and "US" on the other. It also says "STERLING" on the inside, not .925 if that helps.

I don't think you have an Air Force ring. I think you have a Army Air Force ring from WW2 or before. So anywhere from the 20's - the 40's and yes a VERY nice ring, probably worth some cash to someone.

Without doing any research on your ring, I recall the ring I found a few years ago....very similar to yours.
From what I recall, a magazine, perhaps readers digest, sold rings to returning doughboys from WW1, commemorating their service "over there". 3 styles were offered, both silver and gold were available. This may be one of those styles,
I think this is what you have.

If anyone can look deeper into this, pin it down and see if I'm on the right track, that'd be cool.

Looks like a Civil Air Patrol ring. The CAP is an auxillary of the USAF.
