found a cartridge plate today near my house, its a kind of cellar hole dug into a hillside with the foundation stones at the upper side maybe three feet high.. been hunting numerous times here; find lots of horse and wagon stuff. but its very cool to pull up something with US on it 
kind of confirms my suspicions that there was an encampment here... found a music corps uniform button that has the drum on it over the winter! its an awesome hobby!!! good luck everybody!!
