It's because you have a GSM phone, which are known for interference in electronic equipment. I used to have a black Razr that I bought the day it came out... big mistake. One, it sucked so badly for as much as I dropped for it. Two, I found out that it interfered with every electronic device I brought it around (i.e. telephone speakers, misc. speakers, etc.) It would even make my alarm clock give off a static buzz right before I got a text or phone call was about to come in.
Since then I've switched over to Verizon and got the LG enV which uses the CDMA network and haven't had a problem since!
As far as I know, walkie-talkie's shouldn't bother your MD? I've used a pair of my 12 mile radios and they didn't do a thing to my MD... :)
